Vallauris on the Cte d’Azur had its prime in the 1950s, attracting pottery powerhouses such as Pablo Picasso and Robert Picault. Picault is known for being a pioneering potter, but also a friend and colleague of Picasso. They learnt from each other in Vallauris, sharing tips and tricks in their specialised areas. Picaults signature style consists of geometric swirls and zigzags in a rich, earthy colour palette, as well as hand-painted flowers, fish and birds. Please note, this item is a truly original vintage piece with slight imperfections and distinctive characteristics that add to its charm and celebrate its unique history.
