Tracing Takeda Kahei Shotens lineage will lead you to Shokuro Takeda, who is said to be one of the eight people who first settled in the shibori hub of Arimatsu in 1608. The Patrimoines collection is guided by this rich heritage, created in collaboration with Sawako Furukawa who chose three designs to honour the Takeda Family Residence. The Pied de Phnix kimono is inspired by the phoenix painted on the ceiling, with footstep-like markings achieved with tsukidashi kanoko a form of the shibori technique where small dots are individually knotted with a thread.
