Tracing Takeda Kahei Shotens lineage will lead you to Shokuro Takeda, who is said to be one of the eight people who first settled in the shibori hub of Arimatsu in 1608. The Patrimoines collection is guided by this rich heritage, created in collaboration with Sawako Furukawa who chose three designs to honour the Takeda Family Residence. The Toits kimono is inspired by the tiled roof, with abstract waves achieved with mokume a form of the shibori technique named after the irregular vertical creases that recall the grain of trees.
